Enrolment FAQ

  1. When do I enrol my child? As soon as possible in any new year.   New enrolments are taken up to Term 3.
  2. How does enrolment occur?  Contact Jan Pianta to discuss your child’s needs.  Once enrolment form has been completed, signed and returned your child is enrolled.  As easy as that!
  3. Will 2024 timetable the same as the previous year?  Not exactly so be sure to read the new times.  when attached above.
  4. Is there a mandatory minimum of class?  Only for classical ballet students from Grade 1 upwards when working towards taking an exam, where 2 classes a week of classical ballet training is essential.  For classical ballet dancers at higher levels, sometimes three classes a week is essential to work on specific goals or when a dancer begins pointe training.
  5. What are the costs of classes?   The JPSD Invoice policy covers all expenses.  See Jan for a copy.
  6. Are there other costs on enrolment?   Yes – these are all written into the JPSD Invoice policy.
  7. Is there a discount for multiple class?  Yes – these are all written into the JPSD Invoice policy.
  8. Is there an end of year performance? Yes – the highlight for all dancers – 2023 date is 9 December 2023.  There are other end of year performance activities that are compulsory, all occuring in the last week of the dance school year with these events known to parents in Term 1 of each year so parents can plan.
  9. Can my child take a private class? Most certainly – for competition solos, exam prep or catch ups.
  10. What uniform requirements does my child require?   JPSD has set uniforms for all dance styles.  Classical ballet grade colours are provided on enrolment. For all other classes, dancers purchase our wonderful JPSD uniform pieces, that can be mixed and matched for weekly classes.  If your child is taking an exam, be sure to purchase the required pieces as all students taking the exams need to be wearing the same items.
  11. What if my child would like to take a class that is not listed on the current timetable?   Please chat with Jan about your child’s needs and Jan will do her best to cater for your child’s needs.
  12. When does JPSD finish classes in 2023.   Straight after the finish of our end of year performance.
